Horizon Licensing

As of May 6, 2021, you will not be able to purchase perpetual VMware Horizon Licensing as it has moved into the subscription model. If you already have VMware Horizon Licenses, you can still renew it for a three year term - this product is going end-of-life in August 2025. 

You are able to upgrade to:

  • SaaS - A cloud-hosted option that offers multiple payment options
  • Term Subscription - Most similar option to the current perpetual licensing option
  • Horizon Saas
    • Management services provided through Horizon Control Plane (for on-prem and/or cloud deployments)
    • Entitled to all Cloud Solutions and deployment options
    • Monthly, annual, and pre-paid payment options
  • Horizon Term
    • No service, no cloud connector needed
    • No Cloud Deployment (except Federal customers)
    • Comparison to Perpetual
    • Identical feature set as corresponding Horizon perpetual license
    • Term does not have a big upfront license cost
    • Term key will expire (stop working) at the end of the term
    • Pre-paid only
