Over the past five months, both the Secret Service and FBI have issued national alerts regarding organized crime groups exploiting the COVID-19 crisis to commit large-scale fraud against state workforce agencies by using stolen identities. Some states have since acknowledged the loss of “hundreds of millions of dollars” due to this UI fraud. 

In response to this sharp rise in cyber-crime, the US Department of Labor is providing states a total of $100 million in funding to address fraud and identity theft in the PUA and PEUC programs. F5’s world-class fraud detection and prevention solutions are authorized to leverage this funding.
