According to Gartner, by 2026, developers outside of formal IT departments will account for at least 80% of the user base for low-code development tools, up from 60% in 2021. Much of this growth will come from the pressure of organizations requiring an increased velocity of delivering apps, automation, and bots to improve operational efficiency.

However, as citizen developers and makers continue to increase their output of Power Platform solutions, organizations must ensure these makers adhere to compliance and security requirements, similar to what a traditional DevOps team would follow.
