Insider Risk: Securing Remote and Third-Party Access

Event Date: November 14, 2024
Hosted By: SessionGuardian & Carahsoft

Public sector organizations need to continue to provide work-from-home or hybrid work options to recruit and retain top talent.

  • On average 41% of those workers who are eligible to work remotely at least a part of the time do so today
  • 42% of office workers would take a 10% pay cut to have the flexibility to work remotely

Yet, many organizations have not been able to close the numerous security gaps that are introduced by a remote workforce.

  • 72% of CISOs agree that hybrid and remote workforces have a negative impact on their organization's security posture
  • Organizations are unable to prevent remote employees from using a mobile device to take photos of sensitive data when working remotely
  • Organizations are also unable to detect unauthorized users (family members, roommates, friends) viewing the organization's data
  • Organizations struggle with employees outsourcing their work to untrusted third parties and providing credentials and/or remote access to their devices and their employer’s network

In this webinar, SessionGuardian spoke on best practices for extending on-premises physical security controls to the home office or third party’s remote site.

Attendees learned how to provide secure remote access for third parties and employees by detecting and preventing:

  • Photos of the screen
  • Unauthorized shoulder surfing
  • Credential sharing
  • Attempts to screen capture or screen print when accessing protected applications

Managing the Workload: A Poll of Government Officials on Collaborative Work Management Software

Overseeing multiple tasks across multiple personnel can be a challenge, which is why some see Collaborative Work Management (CWM) software as valuable to their organization. But exactly how helpful is it? Between March and April 2022, Government Business Council (GBC) polled a random sample of government employees to gauge sentiment surrounding CWM. In this poll, GBC surveyed 259 federal and defense employees.
