Unveiling Top Cloud Exploits and Cyber Risk Facts

Event Date: February 27, 2024
Hosted By: Qualys & Carahsoft

For more than 10 years, agencies have been shifting their digital footprint to cloud computing. The ability to rapidly scale solutions in a cost-effective manner allows any agency to enhance its agility, improve application release timelines, and leverage additional computing resources on demand. While this has changed how agencies manage their IT assets, the need for security remains just as strong. Throughout 2023, the Threat Research Unit at Qualys has been gathering data to uncover true cloud misconfigurations, and how to deal with them.

In this webinar, attendees joined Jonathan Trull, Federal CISO at Qualys, to look through this report and dive deeper into:

  • Various vulnerabilities your agency might not be aware of or prepared for
  • Five Risk Facts learned from cloud threat analytics reporting
  • Best practices in solidifying all aspects of your cloud program
  • How to build a Zero Trust Architecture to prevent data loss

Clemson University Balances Network Performance and Security with Help from Gigamon

Clemson University upgraded to a cutting-edge 100Gb network, which initially fell short in providing the NetFlow data essential for monitoring traffic and uncovering security vulnerabilities. By adopting the Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline, the university reinstated NetFlow generation, increasing its throughput from 30,000 to 70,000 flows per second. This improvement bolstered network awareness and decreased false positives, greatly enhancing Clemson’s security framework and operational performance.
