Peter Durand is the vice president of Acquia federal sector. He has more than 20 years of technical and leadership experience within enterprise software, distributed computing, telecommunications, information security, and consulting services across the Fortune 500 and public sector.
At Acquia, he is responsible for leading efforts across civilian and DoD clients to transform agency digital strategies utilizing Acquia’s open platform-as-a-service and enterprise support services, leveraging the rapid innovation and costs saving driven by open source (Drupal), security, and the cloud.
Prior to joining Acquia, Durand was instrumental in establishing Akamai’s government business unit, homeland security practice, and strategic partnerships. He has held numerous director and senior management positions at Oracle, EDS, MCI Telecommunications, and a DARPA funded security startup.
He holds a master’s degree in telecommunications policy from Florida State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, and he operates a hops farm in Bluemont, Virginia.
