Software Factories: Delivering Secure Solutions at the Speed of Operation

Event Date: April 29, 2021
Hosted By: GitLab, FedInsider & Carahsoft
Federal agencies are applying assembly line methodologies to their software development processes to deliver secure solutions at the speed of operation. This concept is being used throughout the federal government, especially within the Department of Defense. The U.S. Air Force has a number of such factories, all working on a common platform. The Army Futures Command is developing its own, while the Navy is devising a variation it calls a “software practice.” Meanwhile, DHS and civilian agencies are evaluating the approach.

Tune in to hear from industry and GitLab experts to:
  • Explore how software architecture, capability development and refactoring operate in a software factory
  • Understand the economics of software factories and the potential for cost-savings in software development and deployment
  • Learn how to delineate ways to build a functional software assembly line that is efficient, easy to manage and able to quickly build, test and deliver applications
Stream now to learn how agencies are using software factories to accelerate delivery of new and expanded capabilities, increase the frequency of software update, patches and deployment and improve their security profiles.
