IBM Mainframe and System i are critical systems in many government agencies. However, due to technical issues around the legacy nature of these systems they are often left out of important modern IT initiatives. Ironstream is a solution that gets the machine data from these platforms, automatically transforms and forwards it in real-time into Splunk. Participants learned about the types of log data on these systems and the challenges around accessing this log data. Finally, they learned about what you can do with this data once it arrives in Spunk.
Attendees joined us for a session that included a live demonstration where they learned about the:
- Challenges extracting log data from IBM Mainframe and System i
- Ironstream solution for integrating Splunk with IBM legacy platforms
- Common use cases in Splunk that Ironstream enables
