Modernizing Maintenance for Government-Owned Facilities

Event Date: September 22, 2022
Hosted By: ServiceNow & Carahsoft
The most valuable component of the U.S. Military is our warfighters. Supporting the safety and well-being of our servicemembers, their families, and their local communities is of paramount importance. ServiceNow is a proud partner across the DoD, providing the platform to digitize how work gets done and ensure that government-owned facilities are properly maintained and positively impacting servicemember lives in DoD-managed housing, dormitories, barracks, schools, child development centers, and fitness centers.

During this session, we explored how ServiceNow is modernizing maintenance environments throughout the DoD, and showcased the following standards to ensure those services implement capabilities which:
  • Allow military personnel or their family members to submit requests including photos via mobile phone applications, websites, phone, and other online tools to allow the timely reporting of maintenance issues for tracking and repair purposes.
  • Explore how data-driven maintenance paired with AI and ML can be applied to prioritize onsite workflows carried out by our warfighters, civilians, and contractors who need to have the right knowledge, the right materials, at the right time and location (facilities, on base, in the field, remote locations).
  • Support a proactive approach to condition-based maintenance and data access in real-time dashboards with predictive intelligence and preventative measures.
  • Provide information in an easy-to-read format for senior leaders to monitor trends in housing/facility conditions and the timely completion of maintenance requests.
  • Allow military servicemembers to provide feedback, which is linked to a system of action for initiating, completing, and monitoring workflows which address reported concerns.
