IT Modernization Challenges - Improving Federal Human Resources

Today’s Innovation in Government Report highlights the government’s IT modernization challenges. David Vernon, the Senior Human Capital Management Application Specialist as SAP, says improving federal human resources needs both long and short term goals.

SAP has partnered with Deloitte recently to create what we call Fed Forward, which is a cloud based core HR system that supports all the federal fifty fifty-two processes. It’s different because in their legacy systems, the old way of doing fifty fifty-two processes would bring up a form, you complete the form, and that updates the backend. We’re giving you a modern user interface to enter the data into the system, and then it creates those fifty fifty-two processes for you. This is on one platform and it has to have security wrapped around it though it is fed ramped with SAP.
